About the Club
Knyaz Club was founded in 2001. It was then that a group of historical reconstruction enthusiasts recognised the need to formalise a club and consolidate the unity that had already taken shape. Much has changed in the lives of these people and in the club’s activities, but our dedication to the craft, love of history, and pursuit of new heights have endured.
Over the years we have developed our own traditions, and the club’s history is rich with events worth telling. Long-standing members, passionate about their craft, have experience they’re glad to share with newcomers.
The club takes part in major international historical reconstruction festivals as well as in Historical Medieval Battle (HMB) tournaments. Knyaz Club members have competed at prestigious events including the Battle of Grunwald reenactment, the Zaliznyi Hrad (Iron Castle) festival, the Battle of the Nations world championship, and many others. Members of the club are part of the National Team of Ukraine in HMB and consistently deliver strong results in the lists.
Every year is packed with trips and events — the largest and most popular festivals, plus numerous sports tournaments. These are rewarding journeys that let you discover new cities, visit museums, or simply enjoy an active break.
Initially, our reconstruction focus at Knyaz Club was the everyday life and warfare of Rus’ in the 13th–14th centuries. We later shifted to 14th–15th-century Europe, since the armour of that region and period is lighter and more agile while offering better protection in combat. Members study the history of this period, recreate gear and weapons, and train with authentic arms and armour. The club’s work — historical reconstruction as a balanced fusion of sport, craft, and active recreation — has many sides to it.
Knyaz Club has everything needed to train reconstructors — facilities and coaches who work with both beginners and those who already have some experience. Here you can prepare for combat, train in the gym, learn to craft authentic weapons and clothing, and make new friends.
Our training schedule lets you pick convenient days of the week, so club sessions fit well alongside study or work of almost any intensity.
